Tile company marketing costs depend on the work included, your market, and the channels you use. Compare the service fee, any setup costs, advertising charges, and your own estimating time. Judge the investment against gross profit from suitable booked work, not the full value of every inquiry.
There is no reliable single price that applies to every installer. A business fixing its contact details needs different work from one building service pages, project evidence, reviews, and a consistent discovery process across Google and AI search.
Here are our current package terms, pulled directly from our pricing information rather than a generic industry estimate.
What should a marketing quote explain?
A useful quote separates the work from the hoped for outcome. It should say what the provider will do, what access it needs, what you must supply, how progress is reported, and what commitment you are making.
For an installation company, check whether the scope covers:
- Your Google Business Profile and accurate business information.
- Pages for the installation services and areas you actually serve.
- Real project photos and descriptions.
- An honest customer review process.
- Crawlable content and clear answers that can support AI search discovery.
- Call and inquiry tracking connected to your estimating process.
A provider listing these items should explain what happens in your actual account. A long list of technical terms is not evidence that the work has been done.
Separate service work from advertising charges
An agency fee, a website project, a lead charge, and a platform advertising budget are different costs. The fact that a proposal mentions Google does not tell you which one you are buying.
If paid campaigns are proposed, confirm in writing whether platform spend is included, billed separately, or paid directly by you. Ask about setup, management, fixed charges, and renewal terms. Do not assume that any particular arrangement applies to a provider without checking its proposal.
For More Tile Jobs, use the published package and commitment as the starting point. Do not infer an advertising spend allowance or a separate product from this general cost guide.
If you buy individual contacts, use the Angi evaluation worksheet to connect the charges to booked work. The price per contact is only one part of acquisition cost.
What does AI search work actually involve?
AI search visibility is not a fee paid to make ChatGPT recommend your business. It involves improving the accurate information and evidence that search systems can access and use: business facts, useful service answers, real projects, relevant sources, and content that is understandable without seeing a photograph.
Google says a page must be indexed and eligible for a search snippet to qualify as a supporting link in AI Overviews or AI Mode. It does not require special AI markup. OpenAI distinguishes its search crawler from its model training crawler; allowing training is not a prerequisite for allowing its search crawler.
These are technical foundations, not promises of inclusion. An agency should not charge for a supposed guaranteed listing inside every AI answer.
Our Google and AI search visibility service explains the connected work. Ask any provider how it distinguishes a sampled AI citation, referral traffic, a qualified inquiry, and a booked installation.
Use gross profit to judge affordability
Start with the work your business can realistically take on. If your crew is already full, marketing may need to support a better project mix rather than a larger inquiry count.
For a consistent group of projects, record:
- Revenue from the work.
- Direct costs, including materials, installation labor, preparation, removal, disposal, and subcontractors where applicable.
- Gross profit before acquisition costs and general overhead.
- Marketing costs attributable to that work.
- The amount left to contribute to overhead and profit.
Use the same accounting definitions each time. Your bookkeeper can help keep job costing consistent.
To estimate the additional work needed to cover a marketing fee, divide the fee by a realistic gross profit per additional job before marketing. If your project margins vary, calculate more than one scenario. That calculation is a planning tool, not a forecast that those jobs will arrive.
Do not accept “one bathroom pays for everything” without checking the numbers. The invoice includes costs your company still has to pay.
Include the owner's time
Calling inquiries, reviewing photos, driving to estimates, preparing proposals, and following up all take time. A channel that generates many unsuitable requests may use that time without improving the schedule.
Record the time consistently, even if you do not assign it a dollar value initially. If you do assign an hourly value, label the assumption rather than presenting it as an outside benchmark.
A useful qualification process asks about the project location, installation scope, photos, desired timing, and the next step. It should help your business decide whether to estimate, not pressure every homeowner into a visit.
Compare commitments and account control
Ask about the initial term, renewal, cancellation, access to accounts, and what happens to work already created. Do not assume that every provider's contract grants the same rights.
With More Tile Jobs, you retain ownership of your Google Business Profile. The current pricing page states the monthly fee and initial commitment. Ask for clarification about any other account or asset before signing rather than relying on an assumption.
Metro exclusivity is also different from exclusive ownership of an entire market. Our commitment concerns which tile contractor we work with while that client is active. It does not prevent other installers from marketing themselves.
What should a monthly report tell you?
Look for sources, inquiries, qualification, estimates, and booked work. Search visibility is useful context, but a ranking chart alone cannot show whether the program is profitable.
For AI search, record which tool, question, date, and context produced an observed mention or citation. Answers can vary. Not every citation creates a click, and a missing referral label does not prove that no customer encountered the business through AI.
Google reports traffic from its AI search features within the overall Web search reporting described in its documentation. Do not assume there is a clean, separate AI revenue total in every tool.
Questions tile owners ask
Should I choose the lowest monthly fee?
Not without comparing scope, commitment, reporting, and responsibility. A lower fee can cover less work, while a higher fee does not automatically deliver better results.
Does AI visibility mean buying another advertising package?
Not necessarily. More Tile Jobs includes AI search visibility work in its connected marketing program. That is work on discovery foundations and useful information, not a promise of paid placement or a recommendation inside a tool.
Can a provider guarantee enough jobs to cover the fee?
No provider controls every factor between discovery and completed work. Capacity, response, scope, estimating, customer choice, and margins all affect the outcome.
What should I do before hiring anyone?
Check your business information, identify the services you want, understand your available capacity, and review your current inquiry sources. Then ask for a clear proposal rather than a promised position.
Where can I see the actual offer?
Read our pricing page, compare buying leads with building a Google and AI presence, or request a free audit.
Check your cost per booked job
Use the tile marketing calculator with a matched group of inquiries, estimates, and booked work. Enter total marketing spend and the revenue and direct costs from those same jobs. It shows your own numbers, not a promised industry return.
If you are comparing lead platforms, read the Thumbtack guide. If the website is the main concern, review website design for tile contractors before assuming a full rebuild is needed.
